St Juliot Parish in the county of Cornwall reaches from the edge of Boscastle inland. Our self catering holiday cottages are situated in the parish.
The parish is probably best know for it pretty church (above) and links with Thomas Hardy.
Hardy was born near Dorchester in 1840, he wrote many books and Poems. Among them were: Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Far from the Madding Crowd, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Jude The Obscure and Return of the Native
In 1870 Hardy was restoring St Juliot Church and met Emma Lavinia Gifford, the Rectors Daughter, who he later married in 1874. The Hardy Society installed an engraved comemorative window in the church in 2003.
