Tintagel Castle is famous around the world for it's with King Arthur. The current castle stands on a peninsula and dates from the 13th century. The site was first settled by the romans and is run by English Heritage.
Many people holiday near Tintagel in hotels, self catering holiday cottages or camping to follow the Arthurian legends and go to the beaches. Bossiney Cove(above) is quite a walk to get down to while Trebarwith Strand a good area of sand when the tide is out.
The Post Office is an interesting building, it was built in the 14th century to the plan of a monir house.
There are many walks to do in the area, Rocky Valley (below) which is very pretty. Above is one of two carvings that can been seen at Rocky Valley, nothing is know about them for definite.
There are various Hotels to stay in at Tintagel, The Camelot Castle Hotel, dominating its section of the coast, Atlantic View Hotel, Bossiney House Hotel, Willapark Hotel, Penallick Hotel.
